Attaching a clogged bath drain

If you find that the tub drain is clogged, do not run it on the phone and call a plumber. These things are very easy to handle and can be done by yourself. All you need is some tools and patience.

Tools needed

  • Plunger
  • Hand auger
  • Screwdriver
  • Wet cloth
  • Commercial drainage unclogged

Remove the bath drain assembly

All you need for this job is a screwdriver. Just unscrew the drain cap and remove it. Carefully remove the whole assembly.

If you can see the obstruction, try to remove and clean the drain assembly as well. Reinstall it. If the obstruction is not on the surface then follow the next step.

Sinking

To ensure maximum pressure on the clog, be sure to cover the overflow leak with a wet cloth. Then add some water into the tub and begin penetration. Try to see if the leakage obstructions. If not, go to the next step.

Using the hand auger

Unlike a plunger, this practical tool clogs fixed by extracting its origin, not to drive down. Push the auger into the drain and continue pressing until you feel that you have reached the obstruction.

Test and rotate until you feel that the obstruction has been removed. Put some water in the tub and then see if this has solved the problem. If not, go to the next step.

Test a commercial unclogged leak

If none of the above solutions offer some results, this is your best chance. What happens is that these substances should be used in large quantities, because they contain powerful chemicals that can be eaten through the pipes of your bathroom.
