6 Ways to Unclog a Bathtub Drain

Overtime, hair, grease and other debris tend to accumulate in the drain, and block it. It is important that you handle these problems, to avoid any water damage to the structure of your home. There are numerous chemicals and tools that can help you get rid of these clogs.

Hot water

Hot water can most often be the solution to clogging problems. Just heat some water just near the boiling point and then pour it down the drain. We’ll go there for about 10 minutes and then try to see if the leak is clogging.

The cap is removed

Remove the cap by removing the screws first. Then clean the bottom where the debris accumulates. Use a cord to catch hairs or other debris that may be found in the drain.

Plunger

The plunger is the most used tool in the pipes. Every home must have one. It can be used to get rid of clogs in the drain sing, bath and even toilet. Place the plunger in the drain hole and the press and put it a couple of times. This will create a vacuum that will remove the obstruction. Heavy sinking will usually cancel all small clogs.

Vinegar

In a jar or glass, put 1/3 cup of vinegar with 1/3 cup of baking soda. The mixture will immediately start to bubble so you need to pour into the sewer as soon as it started. Let them interact with the blockage for about 10 minutes. Then pour some hot water into the drain and see if it is uncovered.

Snake

If you tend to have the usual problems with drain clogs, then it is time for the snake investment leak. It is a steel cable with a spring, which can be extended to reach down the drain. They are usually 15 to 25 feet long. To clear the obstruction, just put the snake in the drain and start turning it and gently push it down the drain.

Empty

You can also use a vacuum cleaner to remove clogs. Put it on the liquids, and then remove the filters. Place the hose in the drain hole and start it. All debris should be sucked into the drain.
