Basic drain plumbing toilet

It is important for you to have some basic plumbing knowledge, in case of an emergency.

Tools and materials you need:

  • Rubber gloves
  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Salt
  • Drain bit
  • Toilet brush
  • Scourer
  • Plunger
  • Cube
  • Cloth
  • Wrench

Easy to clean

If you see that debris and water, do not flow as fast as it should be, then you may encounter a problem in the near future.

This is a sign that you need to do some cleaning. You should prepare a mixture of music soda (half cup) and white vinegar. Easily pour the vinegar over the baking soda, to avoid any overflow. Put the mixture in the toilet and then wait half an hour for it to have any effect. Use a bath brush and then let the water out and see if the water flows faster.

If this does not work, then use the same mixture, but put a little salt. First stop the water supply and empty the cistern. Leave the mixture in the toilet bowl for half an hour.

Clearing the Blockage

If the water does not go away, then it means that it is clogged. Use a plunger to release it. Put it so that it covers the entire mouth of the toilet bowl and push and pull it tightly.

If this does not work, then you should try to use a special drainage snake. Place the snake on the toilet and push it through the pipes. If it finds something, then push it and rotate it. Be careful though it could damage the porcelain. Just work back and forth.

Dismantle the toilet

If the obstruction is very deep, then it is necessary to remove the toilet. Loosen the screws that hold the toilet in place. Use the snake leak to remove the obstruction from the drain.
